Get involved
Four ways to take part. All of them matter, and the first one is free.
Volunteer
Work a door,
hang a show
Every event runs on people who showed up early and stayed late.
We need help with load-in and load-out, the door and the merch table, setting up chairs for Town Halls, taking photographs, hanging work for exhibitions, and translating at forums. Shifts are usually three to four hours. No experience needed for most of it — we will show you.
Tell us roughly when you are free and what you are drawn to, and we will get you on the list for the next thing that fits.
Support
Put money
behind it
Free at the door means somebody else covers the cost. Usually that is neighbors.
Donations go to artist fees first, then to the unglamorous things that make an event legal and safe: permits, insurance, sound, chairs, accessibility. We publish what we spent after each season.
$25
Covers chairs and setup for one Town Hall.
$100
Pays one musician for one set at scale.
$500
Underwrites the permit and insurance for a street event.
Replace this with your donation link once it is set up — see the README.

We list North Beach events that are open to the public, whether or not we are the ones putting them on.
